WhyIsMyChild.com was founded in 2024 by Sameera Farjam, an SEO professional, and her husband Dr. Farjam Ahmed Zakai, a Consultant Neonatologist and Head of NICU at Patel Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan.
The idea was born from a simple but powerful frustration — parents searching for answers to urgent child health questions online were finding generic, unreliable content written by people with no medical background. Meanwhile, qualified specialist doctors with years of clinical experience had no accessible platform to share that expertise with the families who needed it most.

Dr. Farjam Ahmed Zakai is a Consultant Neonatologist and Head of NICU at Patel Hospital, Karachi. He previously served at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi — one of Pakistan's largest paediatric tertiary care centres — where he managed critically ill neonates including cases of birth asphyxia, neonatal acute kidney injury, prematurity, and neonatal sepsis. He holds dual FCPS qualifications in Paediatrics and Neonatal Paediatrics and is an active clinical researcher with peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognised journals.
